ALS has taken another significant step in expanding its global footprint in the testing and inspection markets. With the acquisition of Stewart Group, a global provider of geochemical, metallurgical and inspection services, ALS can accelerate the development of its existing services into emerging geographies in key strategic markets including Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The acquisition also further diversifies our business stream with the addition of inspection services.
The strategic fit between ALS and Stewart Group will accelerate the development of our combined integrated service proposition enabling us to provide a broader service offering to clients on a global scale. The acquisition also allows us to fast track our global metallurgical offering with Stewart Group's already established laboratories located in Kamloops, Canada.
The Stewart Group has a globally recognised reputation of excellence which has been built on over 40 years of exceptional service in mineral markets. The acquisition brings with it 900 staff and 26 new locations. This acquisition will create exciting new opportunities for the company and our combined staff.
